Every child deserves the chance to succeed. This basic tenet comprises the very foundation of the Nancy Travis Childcare Project (NTCP). NTCP exists to give every child in Athens a chance to succeed – in school, in work, in life. With fundraising events like Over the Edge, NTCP fills the gap between government-allotted assistance and real-world costs to provide children in our community with the early learning advantages of quality care. NTCP provides funding through a voucher system to our partner agencies whose clients need quality childcare. (NTCP does not provide direct assistance to individuals to place children into childcare.) By supporting quality childcare and early learning programs, we enable low-income and homeless parents with children to join the work force, train for a job, and attain a General Equivalency Diploma (GED).

NTCP educates and advocates. We strive to educate the public about the need for more quality-rated childcare in Athens-Clarke County. We advocate training and professional development for staff members to help childcare programs attain Georgia ‘s Quality Rated status.
